Amy Lasater-Wille is a Partner in Oliver Wyman’s Customer Innovation & Growth practice and leader of the firm’s Human Insights group. With over 18 years of experience in academic and applied consumer research, Amy specializes in bringing a deep understanding of everyday consumer and end-user needs to strategic problems across industries and geographies. ​Her expertise includes qualitative and quantitative research setup, implementation, and analysis; value proposition development; ethnographic methodologies; and customer segment and persona creation​.

 

Her recent work in innovation has helped clients across banking, insurance, and healthcare to identify salient customer needs and to develop strategies and product roadmaps accordingly. She has also assisted clients in attuning to their employees and B2B customers, focusing on tailoring products to optimally serve both end users and intermediaries.

 

In her professional journey, Amy has assisted companies across diverse industries to understand specific elements of consumer behavior and to adjust their strategies accordingly. This includes projects in media, sports, and financial services, where she helped clients adapt to social and regulatory changes.

 

Prior to joining Oliver Wyman, Amy was a director at a consumer insights and strategy firm in New York. In this role, Amy led research projects across a range of qualitative and quantitative methodologies in a variety of industries, including financial services, retail, consumer packaged goods, tech, and media. She has also taught a masters-level business course in research process and methodology and undergraduate courses in Latin American Studies at NYU. She has published articles in Inc., Anthropology News, Semiotic Review, and Revista de Administração de Empresas.​

 

Amy is a co-author of Oliver Wyman’s A-Gen-Z Report: What Business Needs to Know About the Generation Changing Everything and How Generative AI is Transforming Business and Society. She has also served as a quoted expert in The New Yorker and has been featured in Oliver Wyman’s Reinventing Insurance podcast.

 

Amy holds a PhD in sociocultural anthropology from New York University and a BA from the University of Chicago.

 

In her spare time, Amy enjoys skiing, solving crosswords, and embarking on both local and global adventures with her husband and two sons.
